Mini Turkey Meatloaf Recipe

Ingredients

  • Ingredients:
  • - 1 pound ground turkey lean or 93/7
  • - 1 egg
  • - 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • - 1/2 cup oats
  • - 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • - 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • - Salt and pepper to taste
  • - 1/2 onion finely chopped
  • - 1/2 bell pepper finely chopped
  • - 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • - For the glaze: 1/4 cup ketchup 2 tablespoons brown sugar, 1 tablespoon chili sauce, 1 tablespoon maple syrup

Instructions

  • Cooking Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (or 400°F for a quicker bake). Line a sheet pan with foil for easy cleanup.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground turkey, egg, breadcrumbs, oats, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, salt, pepper, onion, bell pepper, and Worcestershire sauce. Mix well using your hands or a large serving fork until all ingredients are fully incorporated.
  • Divide the mixture into four equal portions and shape each portion into a mini loaf. Place them on the prepared sheet pan.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 20-35 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (the recommended temperature for safe consumption).
  • During the last 15 minutes of baking, prepare the glaze by mixing ketchup, brown sugar, chili sauce, and maple syrup in a small bowl. Brush the glaze over each mini loaf and return to the oven to finish baking.
  • Once the mini meatloaves are cooked, remove them from the oven and let them rest for 10 minutes before slicing.
  • For best results, ascertain that you don't overmix the meatloaf mixture, as this can lead to a denser texture.
  • Additionally, feel free to experiment with different vegetables, such as grated carrots or zucchini, to add extra moisture and nutrition.
  • The mini turkey meatloaves can also be frozen after baking for a quick meal option later on—just reheat and enjoy!
