Ingredients

  • Ingredients:
  • 2 limes juiced
  • 1 orange juiced
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 4 minced garlic cloves
  • 1 tbsp chili powder
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 chicken breasts trimmed of excess fat

Instructions

  • Cooking Instructions:
  • In a medium bowl, whisk together the lime juice, orange juice, olive oil, minced garlic, chili powder, cumin, smoked paprika, oregano, honey, salt, and pepper until the marinade is smooth and well combined.
  • Adjust the seasoning to your liking, adding more chili powder for heat or honey for sweetness.
  • Trim any excess fat from the chicken breasts and, if desired, cut them for even thickness.
  • Place the chicken in a resealable bag or shallow dish and pour the marinade over the chicken, ensuring all pieces are well coated.
  • Seal the bag or cover the dish and refrigerate for 2 to 8 hours, turning occasionally to marinate evenly.
  • Preheat your grill to medium-high heat (about 400°F or 200°C) and brush the grill grates with oil to prevent sticking.
  • Remove the chicken from the marinade and allow any excess marinade to drip off before placing it on the grill.
  • Grill the chicken for 6-7 minutes on each side, checking for an internal temperature of 165°F (75°C) with a meat thermometer to ensure it is fully cooked.
  • Once done, remove the chicken from the grill and let it rest for 5-10 minutes to allow the juices to redistribute.
  • Slice the grilled chicken and serve it in warm tortillas with your choice of toppings, or enjoy it over a salad, in rice bowls, or in sandwiches.
